Previously known as Vietnamese-American Community Network at Thăng Long; our nonprofit networking organization strives to bridge the gap for Vietnamese Americans and their communities by acting as an outlet for building connections and resources. In doing so, we hope to foster new opportunities and novel ideas to move our community forward while still preserving our Vietnamese heritage.
The Vietnamese-American Community of Massachusetts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that serves as an umbrella organization for 26 independent Vietnamese-American associations and organizations. We promote the interest of Vietnamese-Americans within and beyond Massachusetts, working towards human rights and democracy for Vietnam.
Our mission entails the following objectives:
- To promote collaboration among the various organizations and associations within the Vietnamese community of Massachusetts as a means to support and strengthen the community through unified efforts
- To protect the rights of Vietnamese Nationalist refugees by actively seeking solutions for the challenges and disadvantages faced at the local level
- To advocate for human rights and democracy for Vietnam
- To develop mutually beneficial relationships with state and federal governments as well as with other ethnic communities
- To nurture the sense of pride and responsibility towards preserving and promoting the Vietnamese culture and heritage
The Vietnamese-American Civic Association, Inc. (VACA) was established as a Mutual Assistance Association (MAA) in 1984 by Vietnamese refugees to aid Vietnamese refugees and immigrants.
Located in the Fields Corner neighborhood of Dorchester, the heart of Boston’s Vietnamese community, our mission is to promote family self-sufficiency and well-being, and to facilitate community empowerment among the Vietnamese population of Greater Boston. We achieve our mission by providing an array of services to help individuals and families realize economic stability, social integration and a successful transition to the United States.
VACA’s mission is to promote family self-sufficiency and well-being, and to facilitate community empowerment among the Vietnamese community of Boston and Greater Boston.
Over the past 30 years, VACA has worked with our constituents to develop a wide array of services to help Vietnamese individuals and families realize economic stability, social integration, and a successful transition to the United States. Currently our service include : Social Direct service, English to Speakers of other language, Civic and Citizenship classes, health education and outreach, youth programing, and Housing counselling program.
The Vietnamese American Initiative for Development (VietAID) was founded in 1994 by community leaders and residents who believed that a community development corporation would provide comprehensive economic development programs and services to alleviate poverty and advance civic participation in the Fields Corner Vietnamese community of Dorchester.
VietAID’s mission is to build a strong Vietnamese community and a vibrant Fields Corner through the following measures: promoting civic engagement and community building; developing affordable housing and commercial space; providing small business technical assistance and micro-enterprise development; and offering high quality child care services.
