The Polish Century Club of Detroit, Inc. (PCC) has been a stalwart ethnic Polish institution in the greater Detroit area since 1916. For over one hundred years, the PCC has been synonymous with culture, customs and traditions of the Polish Community.
On February 18, 1916, a group of American citizens of Polish descent organized and formed the Polish Century Club at the Skrzycki Hall at Russel and Forest in Detroit, Michigan. The organization wanted to make a meaningful contribution to general welfare in the community and country.
For over 100 years, the Polish Century Club of Detroit has been providing our members and the people of our community of Polish descent with a sense of pride by honoring the traditions and culture of Polonia. From our many social functions to our philanthropic endeavors, we continually strive to maintain a wide range of meaningful and relevant participation of American Polish heritage in the mainstream of America life.
The American Polish Cultural Society came to life on Friday, December 27, 1985, when it was registered with the State of Michigan as a non-profit corporation with the following purpose or a mission for which the corporation was organized:
- To encourage the participation of Poles and Americans of Polish descent in the pursuit of their Polish heritage, culture and language.
- To bring about awareness of the contributions of Poles and Polish Americans to the people of the United States and the world.
- To pursue charitable, literary, educational and other social and fraternal purposes of Poles and Americans of Polish descent.
