The association has no affiliation or ties to any political organization. Its aims are to promote a positive view of law enforcement and strengthen the foundation of German history throughout St. Louis. The St. Louis German American Police Society was established in 2013, and is a fraternal and social organization comprised of law enforcement officers throughout the St. Louis region with an interest in celebrating German Heritage. The St. Louis GAPS aims to be an organization that holds social functions for its members and families, along with promoting charitable activities that would benefit German-American entities in the St. Louis area.

Founded in 1983 when America celebrated the 300th anniversary of the first permanent settlement by Germans in the America.

The German Cultural Society has its origin in the St. Louis Chapter of the American Aid Society, which was founded in 1945 to help the German refugees of Eastern Europe who fled to German and Austria. When immigration to the United Sates became a possibility, many of these refugees who came to St. Louis joined the Society, as did many other immigrants from Germany & Austria. When the need for help abated in post-war Germany, the members of the Society set the preservation of their cultural heritage as the primary goal. To more accurately reflect this purpose, the organization changed its name in 1969 to the "German Cultural Society". The German Cultural Society is a not-for- profit, non political organization, whose purpose is to foster educational and benevolent activities, to preserve and advance the German culture, customs, and language, to cultivate German music, songs, and dances in traditional costumes. All of this makes up the German folklore, tradition, and fellowship. Anyone interested in promoting and supporting the purposes of this Society is welcome to membership. Although the official language of the Society is German, meetings and discussions today are held in English. General meetings are held on select Sundays throughout the year. The German Cultural Society is one of the largest and one of the most successful of the German societies in the St. Louis area, with a multi-purpose building and hall on Jefferson Ave and the Donau Park facility in Jefferson County for outdoor events.

Founded in 1960 to promote understanding and collaboration between the cities of St. Louis, Missouri and Stuttgart, Germany, SLSSC is the oldest Sister City organization in St. Louis. The organization is for people of all ages interested in building awareness of German Culture, promoting friendship and peace, and creating opportunities for civic and economic growth in both cities. As a member of Sister Cities International and the World Trade Center-St. Louis, SLSSC has engaged Mayors in St. Louis and Stuttgart, and facilitated official delegations to promote trade and tourism. Placing strong value on education, SLSSC also sponsors educational exchanges at the High School and University levels, in addition to business internships and teacher exchanges. The link between the two cities has lead to engagement in sports, art, and music. Most importantly, SLSSC leads to life-long friendships. Home stay traditions allow for perspective into the day-to-day life in another country and culture and is truly a unique and exciting experience.
