Founded in 1984 when a group of dedicated mothers gathered at Peterson's Restaurant in Lakewood, New Jersey, the Jersey Shore Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has grown into a vibrant community organization serving families throughout the Jersey Shore region. What began as the Ocean County Mothers' Interest Group has evolved into an officially recognized chapter, formally installed in 1986 and renamed the Jersey Shore Chapter in 2014, reflecting its expanded reach and impact. The organization embodies a mission centered on nurturing African-American youth through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty. Built on the foundation of mothers supporting mothers and children supporting their communities, the Jersey Shore Chapter maintains a commitment to strengthening families while addressing the needs of the broader New Jersey community. Members are passionate advocates for their children's development, working together to implement meaningful activities that teach the value of service, leadership, and community responsibility. The chapter's long history of dedication demonstrates the enduring power of collective action and shared commitment to excellence in youth development.
