It was created to celebrate the incredible achievements of the people and companies within the Japanese American real estate community, and to share these accomplishments with the world.
JAREC was established with the core mission of connecting real estate professionals in the Japanese American community and any persons who would like to foster relationships with the community. Our aim is to create a diverse and welcoming forum where real estate professionals from all cultures and ethnicities can come together to learn and discuss industry trends, develop business opportunities, and most importantly create meaningful lasting relationships.
The Japanese Medical Society of America was established in 1973, as a nonprofit organization by Japanese medical professionals serving the New York region. Today, our organization consists of members from various fields of healthcare and includes physicians, dentists, nurses, researchers, residents, and students all across the United States. Our main focus is supporting the Japanese and Japanese-American communities through various health related efforts.
One such activity, which has been ongoing since JMSA’s founding, is the scholarship program. This program distributes scholarships to medical/dental/nursing students as well as postdoctoral researchers and medical residents, who demonstrate academic excellence and service to the Japanese community. Since 2007, the JMSA Japanese Community Outreach Program has been serving the various social service groups that serve Japanese residents in the US through grant donations. Members of our group regularly give informational healthcare seminars to the local Japanese community. Since the tragic 3/11 Tohoku Earthquake, JMSA has been supporting the victims through both direct medical support and financial donations. More recently, JMSA has been hosting the annual Life Science Forum in hopes to strengthening the ties amongst the Japanese researchers that are active in the United States. In regards to social events, JMSA hosts the annual dinner, holiday party, and wine and cheese receptions to promote fellowship and collegiality among members and people interested in joining JMSA. Through these various activities, JMSA hopes to serve Japanese and Japanese-Americans residing the in the United States as well as provide a place for fellowship and cooperation among its members.
Aware of our responsibilities as the oldest and largest Asian Pacific American civil rights organization, JACL strives to promote a world that honors diversity by respecting values of fairness, equality and social justice.
The Japanese American Citizens League is a national organization whose ongoing mission is to secure and maintain the civil rights of Japanese Americans and all others who are victimized by injustice and bigotry. The leaders and members of the JACL also work to promote cultural, educational and social values and preserve the heritage and legacy of the Japanese American community.
Since 1907, JAANY has been the heart of the Japanese community. We serve our community through bilingual social services, educational programs, and community outreach. With a strong sense of diversity, we have always been a collaborative forum, celebrating and sharing our Japanese culture and heritage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Japanese American Association of New York, Inc./JAANY is the center of the Japanese and Japanese-American community. We provide space, opportunities, and programs to connect with and serve one another, and to communicate and celebrate Japanese heritage.
Japan Society is the premier organization connecting Japanese arts, culture, business, and society with audiences in New York and around the world.
At Japan Society, we are inspired by the Japanese concept of kizuna (絆)–forging deep connections to bind people together. We are committed to telling the story of Japan while strengthening connections within New York City and building new bridges beyond. In over 100 years of work, we’ve inspired generations by establishing ourselves as pioneers in supporting international exchanges in arts and culture, business and policy, as well as education between Japan and the U.S.
Now, more than ever, we strive to convene important conversations on topics that bind our two countries together, champion the next generation of innovative creators, promote mutual understanding, and serve as a trusted guide for people everywhere who seek to more fully appreciate the rich complexities and abundance of Japan.
Japan Society connects American and Japanese people, cultures, and societies through a global lens.
Founded in 1929, the JACL is the oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization in the United States. The JACL monitors and responds to issues that enhance or threaten the civil and human rights of all Americans and implements strategies to effect positive social change, particularly to the Asian Pacific American community.
The JACL and the Japanese American community are continuously affected by changes in the political environment and in demographics. Our society continues to be impacted by the events of September 11, 2001, which created a worldwide climate of uncertainty and insecurity where we must reconcile the proper balance between issues of national security and our civil liberties. We are also affected by the changing demographics of race, ethnicity and age.
Looking to our future, the JACL constantly assesses the effectiveness of its role in Japanese American, Asian Pacific American and civil rights communities, and what infrastructure is necessary to effectively support our mission and efficiently achieve our goals. Today, with inter-racial and multi-ethnic marriages changing the face of the Japanese American community, the JACL faces additional challenges in looking to its future and to the future of the Japanese American community.
