Founded in 1997 by dedicated Chinese American families in Manhasset, NY, the Chinese American Association of North Hempstead has evolved into a vibrant community organization serving over 200 families throughout the North Hempstead area. CAANH operates as a non-profit, non-sectarian organization built on the principles of goodwill, community participation, and mutual support among its members and neighbors.
At its core, CAANH is driven by four fundamental objectives: cultivating goodwill while introducing Chinese culture and traditions to the broader community, promoting active community participation and awareness among members, encouraging quality education through scholarship sponsorships for children, and representing the voices and concerns of Chinese residents. The association achieves these goals through a diverse calendar of social, cultural, and educational activities that welcome both members and residents from nearby communities. From annual Lunar New Year celebrations to fundraising galas and community service initiatives, CAANH creates meaningful opportunities for families to connect, celebrate their heritage, and contribute to the greater Manhasset community.
What distinguishes CAANH is its deep commitment to collaboration and grassroots engagement. The organization actively volunteers at school events across multiple school districts and has earned recognition for its dedication to community service. Through the hard work and passion of its members, CAANH has successfully built bridges between cultures while establishing itself as a trusted voice for Chinese American families in the greater North Hempstead area.
