The Consulate-General of Turkey in Houston has been established in October 28 1985. Since 1986 we have been implementing our consular services in our current office at1990 Post Oak Blvd. Ste. 1300.
Our Consulate is one of the six Turkish Consular Missions in the USA, the rest of which are located in New York, Chicago,Los Angeles, Boston and Miami.
Our jurisdiction area is covering 8 US States, including Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
Turkish American Association of San Antonio is an inclusive organization that welcomes people of all religions, backgrounds and national origin. What unites us is our mutual interest in Turkish culture and history. We welcome people who were born or raised in Turkey; people who have visited Turkey and fell in love with the country; people who served or worked in Turkey and have many fond memories; and people who would like to learn more about Turkey.
We do not have a political agenda. As a non-profit organization, we do not engage in political, religious or legislative activities. Our objectives are intercultural, educational and social.
TURANT is organized and operated exclusively for the purpose of increasing, improving and promoting public knowledge and understanding of the Turkish culture, history and people; to foster friendship and communication among the Turkish American Communities; to promote the exchange of the arts, cultures, music and cuisine of the U.S. and Turkey; to provide humanitarian assistance; and to educate and inform the members of the Corporation and general public.
The Corporation is a non-profit public benefit organization within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (or the corresponding provisions of any subsequent United States Internal Revenue Law), and as stipulated in Article IV of the Articles of Incorporation.
