Founded in 1974, the Coalition of Labor Union Women represents a historic commitment to amplifying the voices of union women in America. The Grand Prairie-Arlington Chapter brings this national mission directly to the Texas community, uniting women workers around shared values of equity, justice, and solidarity. CLUW emerged from a recognition that union women needed their own dedicated space to address unique challenges and leverage collective power for meaningful change. Operating as a nonpartisan organization within the broader labor movement, the chapter builds relationships among union women while fostering mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement. Members of the Grand Prairie-Arlington Chapter work together on issues that matter most to working women: fighting for wage equality, securing family-friendly workplace policies, protecting workers from exploitation and harassment, and ensuring women's voices shape labor policy and legislation. What distinguishes CLUW is its deep roots in the labor movement combined with its unwavering focus on women's empowerment and social justice. By connecting individual union women to a powerful national network, the Grand Prairie-Arlington Chapter transforms personal workplace experiences into collective action, creating lasting impact for women workers across Texas and beyond.
