Consulate General of Malaysia, Los Angeles
March 1982 marked another new beginning for the bilateral relations between Malaysia and the United States when the US Department of State agreed on the establishment of the Consulate-General of Malaysia in Los Angeles. This means, Malaysians living in the west coast will no longer have to travel to our missions in New York or Washington DC to receive their consular services. Initially, the CGMLA covered the California state before expanding its areas of coverage to Alaska, Arizona, Dakota, Utah, Washington State and Wyoming by November 1982.

Malaysian Association of Southern California
Malaysian Association of Southern California (MASC) is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization, MASC was founded in 1990 as a social organization.
The primary purpose of the association is to promote sociability, foster friendship and cultural understanding between people of Malaysian heritage with others in the U.S.A.
We gather together frequently to socialize and celebrate festivals that are unique to both ours and the American culture. The harmonious friendship and close family ties many of us have built over the years had virtually created a small well-knitted Malaysian community in Southern California.
The sense of belonging has eased the adaptation and perpetuated towards a desire to build a home.....far away from home.
