Founded in 1957 by dedicated visionaries, the Italian American Cultural Society in Clinton Township, Michigan was established as a meeting place where Italian Americans could gather to preserve their rich traditions, values, and customs. Since becoming a tax-exempt foundation in 1962, the organization has served as a guardian of Italian heritage, operating under a mission to plan, promote, and carry on charitable, educational, and cultural activities that serve community welfare. The Society preserves traditional Italian culture through lectures, classes, conferences, and study groups devoted to Italian contributions to the world, while compassionately assisting community members dealing with personal, family, or social challenges. Governed by a Board of Directors elected by membership and supported by an advisory board of representatives from various clubs and academic advisors, the organization operates with a full-time administrative and maintenance staff funded through membership dues, facility fees, educational course payments, and community contributions. The Italian American Cultural Society takes pride in hosting diverse community activities throughout the year, including major celebrations and cultural observances that strengthen bonds within the Clinton Township area and beyond. The organization embodies the creative energy and deep-rooted traditions of Italian Americans, serving not only the Italian American community but the entire region through educational programs, cultural events, and community service initiatives that have sustained this legacy for over six decades.
