Association “Ana e Malit” is named after an ethnic Albanian region that carries the same name, in the territory of the Municipality of Ulqin in Montenegro. “Ana e Malit” gathers mainly compatriots who migrated to the United States of America from this region, with the common interest as well as with main objective, to help their country and homeland, as well as in communities where they live (in New York, New Jersey, etc.) to organize humanitarian, cultural and recreational events.
The association also calls for the preservation of native language, the cultivation of Albanian traditions and the celebration of important events and celebrations of our national history
The Albanian American Educators Association (AAEA) is dedicated to promoting education and life-long learning. It will foster professional development and networking within the Albanian-American educators community and strengthen ties with the Albanian-American community by providing educational based activities to enhance success in learning and in life.
The Albanian American Educators Association is dedicated to building and sustaining a strong network of educators. Its purpose is to inspire and support educators and encourage community by providing opportunities for professional growth while promoting the welfare of the Albanian Community. The goals of AAEA are to promote excellence and provide a forum for sharing information and ideas while promoting professional growth.
The Albanian American National Organization is a non-religious and non-political organization established in 1946 to perpetuate and celebrate those special things, which come with our Albanian heritage. Among our priorities is to support the academic endeavors of Albanian-American College Students through annual scholarships. Each year, the organization gives out thousands of dollars in Scholarships, and through the years hundreds of students have received assistance through the A.A.N.O. Generous contributions to this fund have been made over the years by the Albanian-American Community.
The A.A.N.O. currently has nine Chapters located throughout the United States and Canada. Each chapter conducts local ethnic events and participates in National functions as well. Individuals may become members at a chapter level, or Members – at – large if one resides in an area distant from established chapters. Membership entitles you to a subscription to the official Newsletter of the A.A.N.O., the Trumbeta Shqiptare, as well as discounted admission to organizational events. The A.A.N.O. has over the years proven a wonderful means for Albanian-Americans, particularly youth and young adults, from throughout North America to meet and develop close friendships.
The Albanian Professionals and Entrepreneurs Network (APEN) provides a forum for Albanian professionals and entrepreneurs to connect to other dynamic and accomplished individuals in the community. APEN is dedicated to promoting, supporting, and acknowledging the social, economic, and professional development of the Albanian community in the United States.
The Albanian American Women’s Organization (AAWO) works to lift the spirit, status and voice of Albanian women, girls and Albanian families so they can fully participate in all aspects of life, by becoming stronger, and more resilient, in overcoming the years of war, government oppression and tradition that have pushed them down and to the margins of society. AAWO hopes to strengthen the bonds between Albanian American women and their sisters all over the world.
Albanian Roots is a group of young Albanian professionals and students who are dedicated and passionate into promoting the culture, traditions and values of the Albanian people to the world. The organization was founded in 2009 and has actively organized cultural activities in a constant thrive to strengthen the community and to celebrate our culture. Some of our events include Albanian Parties, Picnics, Art shows, Festivals and its main event the participation of Albania at the Immigrants Day Parade in New York City.
Our mission is to establish strong, standard-based programs for the students of Albanian origin in the United States in order to promote high academic achievement in both English and Albanian. Such programs will prepare students to become bilingual and bi-literate while attaining a multicultural understanding in order to maximize their potential in a diverse global society.
The goal is to:
- preserve the Albanian heritage and culture by teaching them the language of their origin
- support the newly arrived immigrant children in adjusting to the new culture by teaching them English as a New Language and providing opportunities to interact with English proficient peers of the same origin
- ensure that both of these groups learn and demonstrate positive cross-cultural attitudes and behaviors
