Founded in October 2006 during the inaugural Azerbaijani-American Academic Forum at UCLA, the Azerbaijani-American Council emerged as the first non-partisan academic and professional grassroots organization dedicated to uniting Azerbaijani-Americans and supporters of Azerbaijan. Operating from New York, NY, this cultural organization has built its reputation on fostering genuine connections and meaningful dialogue within and beyond the Azerbaijani-American community. What sets the Council apart is its commitment to pioneering grassroots civic awareness initiatives that go beyond traditional organizational structures, creating spaces where community members can voice their perspectives on issues that matter most to them. The organization's founding vision—to strengthen lasting relations between Azerbaijan and America—continues to guide its work through educational programming, inter-communal dialogue, and community advocacy.
