Serving the Bay Shore, NY area and beyond, the Coalition of Labor Union Women Long Island Chapter carries forward a legacy of solidarity and advocacy that began in 1974 at CLUW's founding convention in Chicago. This chapter embodies the organization's fundamental commitment to unifying union women in pursuit of common goals and shared remedies to workplace challenges. What sets CLUW apart is its singular focus on the experiences and voices of women within the labor movement—a perspective that shapes everything the organization does. Members in the Long Island community join a national network of women who speak out collectively for equal pay, safe workplaces, affordable healthcare, and protection from discrimination and harassment. The Bay Shore chapter operates as part of a nonpartisan movement that believes women's full participation strengthens unions and the entire labor movement.
