The Mexican Consulate in San Antonio is one of the oldest Mexican representations abroad. In 1861, Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Benito Juárez established the Consulate in recognition of the historical, economic, and cultural ties between Mexico and San Antonio.
The representation was raised to Consulate General in 1911 and, since 1957, it is located in the building of an old US Federal Reserve Bank, considered a historic property by the City of San Antonio. From 1861 to date, 48 Consuls have headed this office.
The constituency of the Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio includes 27 South Texas counties and covers an area of 1,205.4 km 2 .
In addition, the Consulate has the Cultural Institute of Mexico in San Antonio that organizes traveling exhibitions and cultural events in the region and the country.
Honorary Consuls of France are either French citizens or citizens of the host country who are nominated by the French “Ministère des Affaires Etrangères” and delegated by the Consul General of the circumscriptions to which they belong. They are not diplomats by training and are not paid. They are, however, officially accredited by the host country and enjoy privileges and immunities as defined by the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations dated 24 April 1963.
The Honorary Consuls perform certain administrative functions; protect their constituent inhabitants and travelers; facilitate visits by political representatives and business leaders, and promote trade, investment and the arts.

Texas Indo-American Physicians Society was founded in 1988 with five chapters, to represent the interests of practicing physicians of Indian origin. The Southwest Chapter includes physicians of Indian origin in Austin, San Antonio, Uvalde, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Brownsville, Mc Allen, Corpus Christi and Victoria and all surrounding areas. Texas Indo-American Physicians Society Southwest Chapter is a patron member of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), the largest ethnic medical organization in the United States and the 2nd largest organized medical association after AMA.
TIPSSW seeks to provide a forum for solidarity for physicians of Indian ethnicity as we pursue our common goals of excellence in patient care with compassion. We celebrate our common roots and culture, encourage our young to volunteer, and promote giving back to the community.
As of 2022, we estimate that there are 600+ practicing physicians of Indian origin in San Antonio area. We are seeing a rapid and rising influx of new physicians. TIPSSW is a great way for them to introduce themselves to the local community and participate in a meaningful way in contributing to society outside of their busy practice schedules. TIPSSW’s dynamic leadership teams innovate and introduce new initiatives constantly and keep their members engaged.
Catholic Physicians Guild of San Antonio is an association of healthcare professionals that informs, organizes, and inspires its members to uphold the principles of the Catholic faith in the practice of medicine. We come together to fellowship, to serve and to be Christ to a world in need of healing.
The Guild is not just for physicians but also dentists, nurses, pharmacists, therapists and all others who practice healthcare professionally. Students preparing for careers in healthcare are especially welcome.

The Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental Association (GSAHDA) is the San Antonio affiliate chapter of the National Hispanic Dental Association.
GSAHDA was established to help oral health professionals in all disciplines interact more effectively with Hispanic and underserved patients. We accomplish this by optimizing oral health at a grassroots level and provide education and support for students looking to build a career in oral health.
We represent oral health care professionals and advocates, including Latino dentists and physicians; dental hygienists; nurses and nurse practitioners; physician assistants, dental and medical assistants; and dental laboratory technicians in the Greater San Antonio area. Membership to GSAHDA is not limited to only Hispanics but is open to all health professionals who have an interest in promoting oral health in the San Antonio area.

Our Vision and Mission

Ricardo Julio was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His family moved to the US at an early age, and he has lived in Texas ever since. Growing up in a foreign country, he quickly learned the value of hard work and dedication.
Mr. Julio received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Baylor University in 2009. After graduating, Mr. Julio attended the night program at St. Mary’s Law School while maintaining a full-time job in Austin. At St. Mary’s, Mr. Julio was part of the St. Mary’s Civil Clinic where he provided pro bono representation to members of the San Antonio community for family law matters.
His background in medical sciences gives him an unique perspective as a car accident lawyer. Mr. Julio is a member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Mexican American Bar Association. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Mr. Julio has been working as a personal injury attorney in Texas since he received his bar license in 2015. He has worked with many personal injury attorneys throughout the state of Texas. After receiving his bar license, Mr. Julio worked as a car accident lawyer for a large firm. He quickly realized that personal injury clients were not receiving the attention they deserved. After practicing for a couple of year, Mr. Julio decided to open his own practice and give clients the treatment they deserved.
Karol S. Furmaga, Esq. focuses his practice on matters involving commercial litigation and personal injury defense, representing businesses and insurance carriers in matters involving insurance coverage, negligence actions, business and commercial disputes.
Mr. Furmaga is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Williams College and his juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center.
