The jurisdiction of this consulate general covers a total of twenty-four counties in the state of California : Alpine , Amador , Butte , Calaveras , Colusa , El Dorado , Glenn , Lassen , Modoc , Mono , Placer , Plumas , Sacramento , San Joaquin , Shasta , Sierra , Siskiyou , Stanislaus , Sutter , Tehama , Toulumne , Yolo and Juba. The Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento, California, was opened as a Career Consulate in 1942, with a direct constituency in nine counties in the Northeast of the State of California and in the State of Nevada. Subsequently, its constituency was expanded to twenty-four counties located in northwestern California and the State of Nevada, with the exception of Clark County, where the City of Las Vegas, Nevada is located. In 1997, its rank was raised to the category of Consulate General, maintaining the same consular district. However, at the end of 2001, due to the establishment of the Carrera Consulate in Las Vegas, Nevada, the circumscription was reduced to the twenty-four counties of the State of California. The Consular Representation has been in charge of fifteen Career Consuls and four General Consuls.

Sacramento Latino Medical Association (SaLMA) was established as a 501c3 non-profit corporation in 2007. Our mission is to represent and unite Sacramento Valley area Latino physicians and Sacramento Valley area physicians who treat Latino patients in order to advocate for the delivery of high-quality and culturally appropriate healthcare to the Latino community in the Sacramento region of California. The Hispanic Physicians Independent Physician Association (HPIPA) has been in business since 1988. As the premier IPA, it is well-known for its quality, cost-effective health care services for the Hispanic Community through its health care clinics as well as through the Hispanic Physician IPA. Hispanic Physicians’ geographic area covers Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Kern Counties. It has member outreach programs to communicate with the entire population and to also educate them on health-related issues that affects the community. Since the inception of the IPA, all our clinics and the IPA have been contracted with several Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) and many other Private Health Insurance Companies in all the four counties. Our HMO Networks in all four counties are fully staffed with required specialists’ panel to complement our Primary Care Physician network. Our Mission is to improve the quality of healthcare in our communities by providing health education as well as preventive and medical care. We are characterized by our compassionate and caring approach that brings a personalized touch to our patients’ health needs. We focus on each individual patient's needs and health. In doing so, we serve not just the patient, but their family and community as well. We value innovation, integrity, collaboration, and superior quality in providing management services to members, providers and partners.

Latinx Physicians of California was established in 2011 to address concerns that, while Latinxs represent the largest ethnic group in California, access to the positive social determinants in life have continued to elude them. LPOC noticed a pattern of inequity across income and poverty; health status and disparity; and educational access, attainment and dropout rates—all measurements of well-being and social standing of Latinxs. While LPOC’s core purpose is rooted, governed and influenced by the needs of Latinx physicians, making a difference requires considering what has made them successful, imparting those keys to success to future Latinx physicians, and finding ways to support all Latinx physicians and their affiliates in the effort to eliminate health disparity, promote and optimize health, and the quality of life for Latinxs. The Latinx Physicians of California is a member organization. The base funding of the organization is derived from physician annual dues. Grants and/or donations support LPOC projects. It is our belief we can help Latinx physicians to complete the myriad of activities they must accomplish in the health care setting, at home and in their efforts to be supportive to their communities. The health environment is changing rapidly and to the extent that we support Latinx physicians we will continue to assure a loyal following and create and maintain a network of support for Latinx communities. We envision a feature where health equity is achieved with optimal health and well being assured for all Californians. Our mission is to support Latinx physicians and mentees through education, advocacy, and health policy for health equity, optimal health and quality of life for all Californians.

Our purpose is inspired by Justice Cruz Reynoso, in whose honor we are named. We seek to promote equality and justice in the greater Sacramento area.
