The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities by creating a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals that serve this dynamic market.
In 1987 a spirited band of lawyers joined to form the Asian American Bar Association ("AABA") of Greater Chicago on the belief that a professional bar association could serve not only the interests of its members, but also the community from which its members came. AABA has continually reaffirmed its commitment to that belief and has grown to represent the interests of thousands of Asian American legal professionals and community members.
Our mission includes promoting the professional growth of our members; mentoring law students and new lawyers, providing services to our local community; fostering the exchange of ideas and information among our members and community leaders; partnering with other minority organizations on common matters of concern; and offering policy recommendations on legal, social, political, and economic interests significant to our community.
Formed in 1986, the Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (CABA) is the first local bar association for attorneys of Asian descent in the Chicagoland area. Today, CABA continues to be a forum and resource for networking and learning, organizing and sponsoring events of interest to its members, and providing public services to the local Chinese and Pan-Asian community.
CABA frequently hosts networking and professional development events as we aim to increase the representation of Asian Americans in leadership positions. Examples include our annual participation in the Minority Bar CLE Conference with ISBA, judicial reviews through the Asian American Bar Association, and webinars on career advancement.
CABA hosts numerous social events as well, such as organizing a dragon boat team for the annual Dragon Boat Race for Literacy, Holiday Dinner, Lunar New Year celebration, and monthly happy hours, sometimes jointly with other bar associations and community organizations.
CABA is also committed to public service. We co-founded the Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic with the Chinese American Service League (CASL) to help provide legal assistance to those in need. We also work closely with the Small Business Development Center at Chinese Mutual Aid Association to provide legal panels for its small business clients. We’ve also partnered with the Pui Tak Center on multiple immigration forums.
OCA Greater Chicago focuses on professional and leadership development and is dedicated to promoting the economic, professional, and social well-being of AAPIs in the Greater Chicago area.
Founded in 1973, OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates is a 501(c)(3) national non-profit, membership-driven organization based in Washington, D.C. with over 100 chapters and affiliates around the country. Touching hundreds of thousand of AAPIs each year, OCA works with its organizational partners, members, chapters, and supporters to empower the next generation of leaders.
Originally founded as the Organization of Chinese Americans in 1973, OCA rebranded to OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates in 2013 in order to reflect its pan-AAPI mission and the changing demographics of its membership. OCA continues to recognize the need for its civil rights work to be inclusive of all Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Chinese American Service League is an all-inclusive nonprofit agency with 40+ years of experience educating youth, caring for seniors, training the workforce, placing immigrants on the path to citizenship, and securing our community’s housing and financial wellbeing.
For over 40 years, CASL’s comprehensive programs have connected families and individuals with the vital support they need: providing an educational and cultural foundation for our children, ensuring our seniors live full and independent lives with dignity, enhancing education and training for tomorrow’s workforce, putting immigrants on the pathway to citizenship, securing our community’s housing and financial well-being, navigating healthcare systems and wellness resources, and providing equal access to justice. Since our founding, CASL has been rooted in the principles of equity and justice.
